Tart cards became a cult aesthetic in the 1980s and 1990s. Their use of double-entendre and aesthetic of self-censorship resulted in a popularity as found art, and an icon of self-actualisation in the sex industry.
The following series of Tart Cards reuses this well-known aesthetic, applied to found images of foodporn.
The Tart Cards were placed in public telephone boxes in central London during spring 2017. Each design is equipped with a working telephone number and a tailored voicemail message.
